Masses of new seasons colour now available

We have plenty of new season colour available now in the shape of Osteospermums, Geraniums, New guinea busy lizzies, Euryops, Mesembryanthemums and Bouganvilleas to name just a few.

All the Patio and basket plants are looking superb and are flying out of the door with the nice weather we have been having. We are virtually sold out of the larger Hardy Fuchsias but have stacks of 9cm fuchsias in a huge range of varieties that will be available over the coming weeks. We have varieties in our Dorset Dreamer range that are not available anywhere else

OurBedding plant packs are mostly ready now but as always because its still early and we dont want you to lose them with the late frosts we are experiencing still we would advise holding off for a little longer before doing any major plantings.

Please let us have your baskets in for refilling as soon as possible if you dont want the bother of doing your own.

Perennials, Tree Ferns, Spring flowers and Evergreen hedging

Just arrived, a huge selection of new seasons 9cm sq pot perennials to go with the alpines and herbs that arrived last week. Trays of 18 of a variety available or come and mix your own. We still have large stocks of Laurel & Griselinia hedging in several sizes available but are fast running out of Leylandii in the 6-7′ size.

A selection of tree ferns arrived this week and are just starting to show their first fronds. Camelias, Mimosa and Evergreen Clematis Armandii are all starting to show their first flowers and are starting to sell very quickly.

This week also we have some really nice Impulse sale items such as Campanula blue & white clips along with the first Dianthus all in flower. Ranunculus are just starting to flower also. We still have plenty of Primroses available and will have probably for a couple more weeks yet.

Please make an effort and come and visit our revamped cash & carry plant centre.

Our cash & carry is bursting at the seams with all manner of lovely plants that are rapidly coming out of their winter hibernation. Down here in the south we are starting to see temperatures rising daily after all the horrible cold & wet conditions of the past few months. Why not come and have a wander round and see the amazing transformation we have made to the nursery over the winter months.

Summer foliage

With Stewarts wholesale closing their doors to the landscaping trade just before christmas we recognised a need to get our act together and enlarge our own cash & carry to help meet the expected demand. We are renting space on another nursery locally to grow most of our smaller plants which has enabled us to enlarge the cash & carry area at our glenacres home site to carry a much larger range of plants.

In conjunction with a well known local Landscape designer & plantsman we are once again supplying plants this summer for an exhibit at Hampton court flower show. Hopefully he will once again win an award for his efforts.

Fruit trees and soft fruit bushes are now in.

All our new seasons fruit trees & bushes are now potted and available for sale.

We have a lot of new additions this year including Greengages & Almonds plus many different varieties of plums, Pears, Apples & cherries not to mention some really cracking Peach & Nectarine trees. Most of these are potted in 10 ltr containers.

Soft fruit bushes include several different varieties of Gooseberries & currants plus the usual Raspberries, Blackberries, loganberries etc etc.

There are also three different varieties of Blueberries, Kiwi, Cranberries, Rhubarb & Strawberries.

Herbs and Alpines arriving this week

New seasons Herbs & Alpines will be available from Wednesday 17th February.

We carry a huge range of Herbs, Alpines & Perennials in 9cm & 1ltr pots. Prices will be largely staying the same as last year wherever possible which is good news.

Special low prices apply when you purchase 10 trays of 20 plants x 9cm Herbs & Alpines. Discounts are also available on large quantities of other sizes of Herbs, Alpines & Perennials.

Dorset Fuchsias – we’ve got ‘em

We’ve been hiding our light under a bushel – it’s time to shout out about our Dorset fuchsias You won’t find them anywhere else, we took over the stock from the breeder when he retired. If you are retailing plants in Dorset you need some of these. We have approx thirty varieties of Basket & Upright Fuchsias exclusive to Glenacres. We propagate them ourselves so we need to know fairly early each season whether you need plugs or finished plants. They are all mostly large flowered varieties and we hold stocks of coloured Labels for each.
